Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data AXIOMIC LTD processes when you play a game we publish under the name Axiomic Games (“our games”), when you visit this website (axiomic.games), and when you write to us. It is the information we give under Articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In short: you buy and play our games through Steam, which Valve operates; your Steam account and payment details stay with Valve and are never shared with us. Our games contain no advertising, analytics or tracking software. This website sets no cookies and runs no scripts. We never sell personal data.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is AXIOMIC LTD, registered in the Republic of Cyprus under number HE 480260, Charalampou Mouskou & Grigori Afxentiou 20, Athinodorou Business Center, Floor 3, Office 306, 8010 Paphos, Cyprus. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
2. Steam and Valve
Our games are sold and delivered through Steam, which Valve Corporation (USA) and its affiliates operate. Your Steam account, purchases, payments, refunds, Steam Community profile, Steam Cloud and the Steam overlay are Valve’s services, provided under the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Valve is a separate controller for that data and processes it under the Steam Privacy Policy; questions about it go to Steam Support.
We never receive your payment details, your Steam password, your real name, your postal address or your email address from Valve.
3. What we process
When you play
- Steam identifiers: while the game is running, it receives from Steam your Steam ID (a number that identifies your account) and your public Steam profile name, to check that you own the game and to use the Steam features the game supports, such as achievements, statistics, leaderboards and Steam Cloud saves. These features are run by Valve; achievements, statistics and leaderboard entries are stored on Steam and are visible according to your Steam privacy settings.
- Game files on your computer: your settings, saved games and log files are stored on your own computer. If you turn on Steam Cloud, Valve keeps a copy of your saves so they follow you to other computers. These files stay on your computer unless you send them to us yourself, for example with a bug report.
- Reports from Steam: Valve gives us aggregated reports about our games, such as sales, wishlists, regions and total playtime. They describe groups of players and do not tell us who you are.
Our games do not contain advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or other tracking software, and do not send data to our own servers. If a future game or update needs to — for example for online play or crash reports — we will update this policy before that release and describe the change in the game’s patch notes.
When you write to us
- Support: your email address and name as they appear in your email, what you write to us, and anything you attach, such as screenshots, log files, save files or details of your computer (operating system, processor, graphics card and memory). If you give us your Steam profile name or ID to help us find a problem, we use it for that.
- Press, creators and business: your name, email address, the outlet, channel or company you represent, and our correspondence.
When you visit this website
- Technical data: to deliver and protect the pages, Cloudflare, which delivers this website, and our web server process your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request (such as the page requested, the time, the browser and operating system). This website sets no cookies and runs no scripts, analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from other websites.
We do not collect special categories of personal data, and we do not make automated decisions or create profiles that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Why we use your data, and on what legal basis
- To provide the game you bought — checking ownership and offering the Steam features the game supports — because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To answer you and fix problems — support requests, bug reports and refund or warranty questions — to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)), or, where you are not a customer, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To work with press, creators and partners — on the basis of our legitimate interest in promoting our games and running our business (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To deliver and secure this website — on the basis of our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To comply with the law — for example accounting and tax records, and lawful requests from authorities (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time (see Your rights).
5. Who receives your data
We use these service providers (processors). They process data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): network and security for this website. All traffic to axiomic.games passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and the content of requests in transit.
- Contabo GmbH (Germany): hosts, in the European Union, the server that runs this website.
- Our email provider: stores and delivers the emails you send to us and our replies.
Valve receives data from you directly as the operator of Steam (see section 2), not from us. We may share information with our professional advisers (such as accountants and lawyers), who are bound by confidentiality, and with authorities or courts when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone’s safety. If our business is reorganised or sold, data may pass to the successor, which remains bound by this policy. We never sell personal data and never share it for advertising.
6. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Cloudflare is based in the United States and may process data in data centres outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for providers certified under it, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards at [email protected].
7. How long we keep data
- Support emails and attachments: up to 2 years after the last message in a conversation, so that we can follow up on recurring problems, then deleted. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Press, creator and business correspondence: while we work together, and up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Website logs (IP addresses and request details): for a short time, at most 30 days, to run and secure the website.
- Records we must keep by law, such as invoices and accounting records: for as long as Cypriot law requires, normally 6 years.
- Aggregated reports from Steam: they contain no personal data and are kept as long as they are useful.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data and get a copy of it; to have it corrected; to have it erased; to restrict its processing; to receive the data you gave us in a portable format; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to withdraw a consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.
To use these rights, write to [email protected]. We answer within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity. For data that Valve holds about your Steam account, contact Steam Support.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority: in Cyprus, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, 1 Iasonos Street, 1082 Nicosia (P.O. Box 23378, 1682 Nicosia), phone +357 22 818 456, email [email protected], www.dataprotection.gov.cy; or the authority of the EU country where you live or work.
9. Children
Our games are sold through Steam, whose own age rules apply to Steam accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has sent us personal data, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the website from attacks; they are not used for tracking or advertising. Our games use no cookies. Steam store pages, the Steam client and the Steam overlay are Valve’s, and Valve’s cookie and privacy policies apply to them.
11. Security
This website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to support emails and other personal data is limited to the people at AXIOMIC LTD who need it to do their work. To report a security problem, see security.txt.
12. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our games, our providers or the law change. The version and date at the top show the current version. We announce important changes on this website and, where they concern a game, in that game’s Steam news.
